Meet Director Shannon Cohn

Shannon is an award-winning filmmaker & social impact strategist who utilizes storytelling to change hearts & minds while challenging the status quo.

Shannon has worked globally on topics related to gender health equity. Her films and TV series have aired on PBS, National Geographic, Apple TV, Amazon and Netflix.

Her films are key parts of larger social movements that propel meaningful change in policy, education initiatives, & widespread awareness.

As part of the film’s Impact Campaign, she co-taught a bioethics class at Harvard Medical School utilizing the film as part of 40-site medical school screening series and partnered with the NIH’s 27 Institutes in a special event for its 20,000+ employees. She organized multiple bi-partisan screenings of Below the Belt on Capitol Hill for members of Congress that led directly to introduction of the Endo CARE Act calling for $250 million in research funding. Recently, Shannon co-created Think Endo in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, a new front-line provider educational campaign aimed to decrease the diagnostic delay of endometriosis.
