Meet Director Shannon Cohn

Shannon is an award-winning filmmaker & social impact strategist who utilizes storytelling to change hearts & minds while challenging the status quo.

Shannon has worked globally on topics related to gender health equity. Her films and TV series have aired on PBS, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Amazon and Netflix in over 100 countries.

Her films are key parts of larger social movements that propel meaningful change in policy, education initiatives, & widespread awareness.

Some examples?

Shannon organized a special screening of BELOW THE BELT on Capitol Hill for members of Congress co-hosted by Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Mitt Romney. She partnered with the NIH’s 27 Institutes in a special virtual screening for its 20,000+ employees and co-taught a Bioethics class at Harvard Medical School utilizing the film as part of 20-site medical school screening series.
